A licensed trainer since age 18, Dale Romans saddled his first winner on February 15, 1987, at Turfway Park. The son of renowned trainer Jerry Romans, a leading trainer at Turfway and twice leader at Ellis Park, Dale began working in his father's stable from literally the time he could walk. Romans also worked briefly for Hall of Fame trainer Woody Stephens. On May 30, 2003, Romans reached an impressive, although perhaps bittersweet, milestone: recording his 200th win at Churchill Downs, which just so happened to move Romans past his late father on Churchill's all-time victory list.
Dale oversees all aspects of the business, including the management of 100+ employees and the training of approximately 150 horses.
Among his most successful horses, Kitten's Joy won the Grade I Secretariat Stakes and the Grade I Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational in 2004. He went on to finish second that year in the Breeders' Cup Turf. This was enough to be voted the Eclipse Award for American Champion Male Turf Horse. In 2005 Roses in May provided Romans with the biggest payday of his career to date when he won the $6 million Dubai World Cup. He collected his first Breeders' Cup win in 2009 when Tapitsfly won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.

Farm General Manager & Vice-President Sales
Teresa joined the Romans team in 2011. As general manager of Romans Farm, she oversees the 110-acre property, including boarding, foaling, weaning, and sales prep. Additionally, she is the agent for Romans Racing & Sales. Teresa brings almost 30 years of experience to the team including 3 years working in sales alongside Duncan Taylor and an additional 5 years as an Account Manager at Taylor Made Sales Agency. She specializes in guiding clients though all facets of bloodstock needs.
Teresa literally has the industry in her veins. She is the daughter of Marvin "Junior" Little, breeder of 1991 Preakness and Belmont winner Hansel. That year, Hansel won the coveted Eclipse Award for Outstanding 3-Year-Old Male Horse. Marvin managed Virginia's famed Newstead Farm for 25 years before relocating back to Paris, Kentucky and starting the family's own Meadowlark Valley Farm.
Teresa is up from sunrise to sunset and if she isn't talking with clients, or planning matings, you can find her fixing fences or cleaning stalls. As Dale once said, "Teresa, on a scale of 1 to 10, you are an 11!" Her tenacity, attention to detail and no quit attitude is the reason why she is great at what she does and no doubt what will help Romans Farm come to the forefront of breeding, boarding, and selling thoroughbreds.
